In the first group photo (#3) the One More Classic Western Cedar Bowl is front and center. You can see the rim tapers in more than the other two. In the stacked photos (#4 and #5) it sits on top of the pile and is shown at different angles. The One More Classic Western Cedar Bowl is the smallest in the series. It has a small pedestal on the bottom just like the other two. It has a beauty of a knot on the inside which is visible on the top edge as a dark area.
The wood for this bowl (and all the Classic Western Bowls) is left over from a beam that was originally intended for the ceiling of a house. My grandfather foremaned the building of the house and saved some of the left over building matrials, including a portion of one of the cedar beams. Eventually the piece 'o beam ended up in my dad's garage and of course I felt the need to turn it into bowls. That's what bits of wood are for, right? Turning into bowl?
This is the smallest bowl in the series. It has a distinctive knot and the sides taper inward more than the other bowls making the opening smaller than the other bowls, as well.
